It’s October already! With so much happening for us, time has flown by quickly. After a successful Gift Card Conclave in Singapore last month, we are thrilled about many exciting launches this month, in our markets across Middle east & South East Asia. And the best part, the festive season is here and we can’t wait to share our joy with you. So we’re bringing back a much bigger and better Gifting Carnival!

Festivities is in the air! Who doesn’t love this time of the year, with lots of shopping to do, delicious food to binge on and the getting memorable gifts for your loved ones. This Diwali, we have a gift for you too- “The Gifting Carnival” is back with a bang! We had launched the first ever “Gifting Carnival” in August this year, on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, and after receiving an overwhelming response, we decided to bring it back on Diwali. Diwali is the festival of lights, now its time for you to light up someone’s life with the best gift you can give- the freedom to choose their own gift! “The Gifting Carnival” will see India’s most popular brands coming together under one roof to give you exclusive offers on their gift cards. You’ll have plenty of categories to choose from, a food card for your foodie brother, a travel card for a friend who’s a travel freak and a jewelry card for that special someone. It’s a movie date!

Now this is a proud moment for us. We’ve recently opened up office in Singapore with a strong belief that there is a huge opportunity of gift card business in South East Asia. Taking a step forward in our endeavor to revolutionize the gift card industry in the region, we have launched Gift Cards for the largest cinema exhibitor in Singapore with 14 cinemas and 113 screens, the Golden Village Cinemas. It is a unique program which included migration of their existing and successful gift card program from NETS platform to Qwikcilver. This is a big win for us in a new category in South East Asia!
We have gone live with Golden Village's physical gift cards and would be launching the digital variants over the next quarter. Happy to share that we’ve already had around 300 transactions processed successfully since go-live!

The Conclave was attended by senior representatives across renowned brands such as Grab, NETS, Capitaland to name a few. It was a successful and enriching event with meaningful insights on the gift card industry trends in Singapore and rest of South East Asia. Gift Card sales grow by 300% on Snapdeal!

The Hindu reported that Snapdeal has witnessed a surge in the sale of Digital Gift Cards during this festive season. As compared to last year, there has been a 300% increase in the sale of these gifting options. Snapdeal reported that this growth spurt is coming majorly from the metro cities. One of the many reasons for the rise in popularity of the gift cards is the availability of gift cards in diverse categories and the exciting offers that many brands are giving on their gift cards.

Promoting their Gift Cards and talking about them has been an activity that MakeMyTrip - a pioneer in India’s online travel industry, has been actively doing. Giving a fillip to the Gift Card category in India, MakeMyTrip had recently put out a full-page ad in India's largest daily - showcasing Gift Cards as a festive gifting option as well the exclusive offers on MakeMyTrip Gift Cards.

To celebrate the festival of lights, a special range of E-gift cards called Woohoo Diwali Series were launched. Gifters can now choose from a range of 5 different Diwali themed gift cards and send them to their loved ones. As an interesting piece of trivia, we have had consumers from across 1300+ towns of India who have indulged on Woohoo for gifting to their near & dear ones this season. This does reflect well on the growing preference for Gift Cards.
